Big Data & IoT

Big Data Definition

Big data is the thing that helps the business to analyze when the data becomes very much complicated and hard to obtain them from traditional data processing. Example of big data is identifying the money laundering and risk reduction in banking sector, learning materials, grading system in educational sector and so on. Big data can help the business and organization to analyze the internal weakness and threads to protect the important information. To sum up, big data help the organization to get more interests, allow them to make decision and add values to the organization. This concept became popular when the big organizations started on the definition on the 3 Vs. 3Vs means Velocity, Volume and Variety and they are the key to understand the differences between the big data and the traditional data.

Velocity – With the fast development growth of the Internet of Things(IoT), the data streaming of a business also should be limited very carefully. Smart meters and sensors help to know the data immediately.

Volume – every business need data to collect for their business growth from different kinds of sources. For example, social media platform and many other sources. The business need more space which the traditional methods cannot be stored. In this world, there are many other software that can help make that objective more easily.

Variety – there are various type of data ranging from structure to unstructured data like social media posts and videos. To collect the data from that, you cannot collect with the traditional methods because it need a better software.

Internet of Things (IoT)

IoT is a kind of system connected by the internet which are able to receive or send the data over a network without involving human. Because of the development of the technology, many of the devices in the world are connected to the internet. For example laptops, watches, televisions, phones and many more. Almost everything in the world is included in a part of Internet of Things. Example of IoT applications are transportation, wearables, health care, smart TV, and many more.

Both big data and IoT has made our live many improvements and easier. But how about the marketers? How can big data and IoT can make them improve in their workplace? I’d like to hear your opinion. That’s all from me today. I hope you get some knowledge. I’ll be happy if you share your opinions and any of my weakness to improve. So that I can create a better blog in the future.

Hey Nan, a good question! If the internet will be cut off from the world, there are many difficulties for us. You will face difficulties to connect with one another from different place or country. For huge business organizations like Google or Amazon will become out of date instantly. Microsoft would not be able to run also. The process of every business working online will be effected heavily. From my point of view, I don’t think much that there is an alternative to replace this. Thanks Nan. Have a great day.
